the unique nested cages that are composed of inner cubes (5.1 nm) and outer huge truncated cubes (12.0 and 13.2 nm) with six large bowl-shape subcages were produced in nearly quantitative yields through the precisely designed metallo-organic ligands. the giant architectures with large cavities may provide an interesting model for functional recognition, carrying, and detection of unique guest molecules.
